Chelsea are confident re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
The Mirror says the big Belgian striker shocked the Toffees by revealing he will not sign a new contract at Goodison Park – sparking clubs to prepare bids.
The Blues are sure the prospect of Champions League football and £70million-rated Lukaku admitting he had "unfinished business" at the club means they will land him.
Everton chiefs were optimistic Lukaku, 23, would pen a new deal with the club that would have made him the highest paid player in their history on £140,000-a-week.
The former Anderlecht hitman's agent Mino Raiola even claimed the Premier League's 19-goal joint leading scorer was “99.999 per cent close" to signing.
But Lukaku - who is now Everton's all-time leading Prem goalscorer - has knocked back the offer in his determination to play against Europe's elite.
