Chelsea are challenging Real Madrid for Stuttgart midfielder Sami Khedira.
Stuttgart have confirmed Real's interest this week, while the player's agent, Jörg Neubauer, has also informed the Bundesliga club of an approach from Chelsea, says AS.
Stuttgart chief Juchen Schneider has conceded they've failed to open new contract talks with Khedira despite repeated efforts to do so in recent months.
With less than a year to run on his current deal, Khedira is set to be sold this summer.
