Chelsea are on the brink of signing Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

The Daily Star says it is thought that the 30-year-old will cost Chelsea £6.5million plus add-ons.

Inter are hoping to replace Maicon with Manchester City's Aleksander Kolarov, although they are aware they will struggle to match the club's asking price for a player Roberto Mancini is reluctant to sell.
