Chelsea chasing Real Madrid striker Higuain with bumper contract offer

Chelsea are chasing Real Madrid's prolific striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The People says the Argentina hitman has made a fine start to the season with 11 goals but could be the player to make way if Real step up their interest in Lille star Eden Hazard.

Chelsea, who are set to lose Nicolas Anelka at the end of the season and who still haven’t agreed a new deal with Didier Drogba, could double Higuain’s £3m-a-year salary.
