Chelsea boss Lampard 'very happy' with Kepa; hints at bringing in competition

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard insists he's happy with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard conceded a poor goal in Monday's 3-1 win over Brighton.

With Edouard Mendy set to arrive from Rennes, Kepa looks set to lose his starting spot.

But Lampard refused to criticism his shot-stopper after the first game of the 2020/21 campaign.

"I am very happy with Kepa," the Chelsea manager said.

"With the shot I'm not sure if he could've done any better. But I saw a bit more confidence in how he was playing. Kepa is here, he's our keeper and I'm happy with him.

"If we are bringing in competition, it will be competition. That's the nature of Chelsea and it goes throughout the squad."
