Chelsea boss Lampard: Boehly visiting dressing room not bad thing

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard believes there is no issue with the club's ownership meddling in team affairs.

A report this week stated that co-owner Todd Boehly went into the dressing room after their most recent Premier League loss.

Owners visiting with players right after games is extremely unusual in the Premier League.

Asked about the matter, caretaker Lampard told reporters: “I am comfortable with that. There is maybe some criticism of our old owner of not coming to games and being around that wasn't always true.

“I remember moments as a player of owners first coming into dressing rooms, I remember being happy. I don't think it's a bad thing.

“I had my things to say, an owner wants to come in and be positive and speak to the player, they can do that. No problem with that, it shows passion and that's the first thing that I like."

He then added on the team's fitness and whether the previous regime was responsible for not keeping players fit enough: “I'm big on personal responsibility. I'm not blaming anyone else, it's something we have to address moving forwards. The data, statistics, the output of what we put into games. It's not a question of commitment of the players."
