Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink warns Premier League of Chinese spending

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink says China's big spending clubs should be a concern for the Premier League.

A number of high-profile stars including Jackson Martinez, Ramires and Alex Teixeira have taken the decision to move to China from Europe in recent days.

The financial rewards available to players in China is an obvious attraction for Europe's top players.

And Hiddink admits the number of players leaving Europe for the Far East has been noted.

"It's a concern," he said. "It shows China is very serious to get into international football.

"I had some contacts over there that were very keen, not to bring in big money and star players, but it is equally important for the development of Chinese football to bring in players to educate and help academies.

"You can't just buy big star players and think you have grounded Chinese football. They are basic things, but I know even from high-ranked government people they have a very good approach. It will not be profitable tomorrow, but in the future."
