Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has warning for Chinese mega spenders

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink has warned Chinese clubs over their mega spending.

Hiddink feels CSL teams can overdo the spending.

"You cannot just buy big star players with a lot of money and think that you have laid the right foundations for Chinese football. You need basic things which are not so popular but I know from their side even high-rank government people are taking a serious approach to Chinese football, and they even like to bring into schools an obligation to play football. That is a step that will not be profitable tomorrow but will be in the future.

"It can be attractive to have one or two big name players in an upcoming club or competition, for the clubs and the spectators and also TV but you must not overdo this. What is important and what we did in Anzhi is still working very well. I put in very good youth development and you don't underestimate that. There is a very modern academy where there are still some coaches I put in there, and now they are bringing young players into the team which is the foundation for having one or two big stars."
