Chelsea boss Di Matteo backs 'sacking for racism' rule

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo says he would support a rule that sees players sacked if they are found guilty of racial abuse.

As the knock-on effect from John Terry's suspension for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand continues, the Blues boss says his club would get behind any rule that would bring about the demise of any player found guilty for such misdemeanours.

"It's a difficult one. If the majority believe that we need a law like that then, as I said, we will obey it and support it," Di Matteo told reporters.

"If it will become a rule, we will play by the rules, as we have always done. As a club, we are against any kind of discrimination and, if it does go through then we will support it."
