Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has told club owner Roman Abramovich he'd be mad to sack him.
Conte is fighting to save his job, with ex-Barcelona chief Luis Enrique and Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri heading the list of possible successors.
But Conte claims he deserves to stay — even if he does not win anything this season — and insists Abramovich should trust him to build a legacy.
The Italian declared: “You continue to work with a manager not because of what he achieves in one season, but because you trust in him.
“Then you build something with him. It doesn't mean you have to win something, because that's not easy in England.
“If you don't win, try and build something important. There are two ways. There is a stupid way and an intelligent way."
