Chelsea boss Conte provides positive Morata update

Alvaro Morata's recovery from a back injury is going well, according to Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Having missed the Blues previous two fixtures after suffering the injury against West Ham, Morata was expected to return against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

But Conte has instead opted to continue resting the Spaniard, allowing Michy Batshuayi the chance to start in the quarter final.

"Morata is okay," said Conte. "He had a problem with his back before the West Ham game but he is working very well, he's finding his best form but tomorrow I want to give a chance to Batshuayi."

Conte also confirmed that Charly Musonda and David Luiz would also miss the fixture.

He continued: "[Charly] Musonda has a little muscular problem in his groin. That isn't from today, it's from before the game against Southampton.

"He's out and David Luiz has an old injury also, but other than that, there are no other injury worries."
