Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is determined to sign a quality striker this summer.
According to a report in The Telegraph, the Italy national team boss has a new attacker at the top of his priority list as he gets set to take over at Stamford Bridge after Euro2016.
Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain is believed to be at the top of the list alongside Everton's Romelu Lukaku and Juventus ace Alvaro Morata.
Conte is keen to keep Diego Costa in West London and is reportedly only looking at one new forward to partner the Spaniard.
Argentine international Higuain scored a remarkable 36 Serie A goals this season but would cost £72m while Belgian ace Lukaku would come at a price of £65m to his former club after netting 18 times in the Premier League for the Toffees.
Real Madrid could activate the £25m buy-back clause of talented Spanish international Morata before selling him on for a profit which could give Chelsea a realistic chance of landing him.
Conte is expected to offload Loic Remy this summer and is unlikely to offer new deals to loan strikers Radamel Falcao and Alexandre Pato, and requires a more than apt replacement.
