Chelsea attacker Sterling: This squad has bags of potential; Poch a genuine person

Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling feels today's clash with Wolves is a chance to get the season back on track.

Chelsea meet Wolves on the back of a hammering at Liverpool.

"It's a good chance to get back on track," Sterling told chelseafc.com.

"We've had good results in the weeks before and we're slowly building. But we need to react quickly and get our season back on the way. Wolves are always a difficult team to play with how they play, but it's ultimately down to us.

"We need to stamp our authority on the game, have more aggression in our game. We have to have the right focus and use the disappointment we had in the week to help us go again, build confidence, and get the three points.

"It's a good group, bags of potential, and slowly we're forming into a good team.

"It's a new team with lots of new players, and we're in one cup final and trying to get into another, but the Premier League is the most important thing for us this season because we want to get back into the Champions League.

"There is work to do on that because that is where this football club belongs to be. So, we need to be more consistent in the Premier League."

Sterling, on Mauricio Pochettino, added: "He's a manager who demands high standards, which is what we need as a group. He motivates you, wants us to get into teams' faces and be competitive, that is the side he brings out of us.

"He's a genuine person, a very good person, but he also has a competitive nature and wants to win. He demands a lot from everyone and that is what you get from all the top managers.

"It's not just today and tomorrow, it's every single day that he demands high standards from us. So it has been great working under him so far."
