Chelsea fans stepped over the line in their support of John Terry last night.

The Sun says Chelsea last night condemned their own supporters as travelling fans gave their disgraceful verdict on the John Terry race row.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas insisted he had not heard the chants of 'Anton Ferdinand, you know what you are'.

But a club spokesman said: "The chants were wholly inappropriate. We do not condone it."

Captain Terry was left on the bench in Belgium as the row over his alleged racist abuse of QPR defender Ferdinand 10 days ago rumbled on.
