Chelsea and Shakhtar at loggerheads on Alex Teixeira price

A stubborn Shakhtar Donetsk are preventing Chelsea from securing a £30million-rated Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira, according to Express Sport.

Negotiations between the clubs have been ongoing for weeks with no agreement as of yet over the transfer fee. Teixeira has agreed personal terms with the London club and is desperate to make the move from Ukraine.

Shakhtar will be hoping that Chelsea's current Premier League position will tip owner Roman Abramovich into paying top price for the highly-rated goal scoring midfielder.

Should Teixeira become unavailable until the summer, Chelsea's £10m move for current Corinthians and former AC Milan striker, Alexandre Pato, would be almost certainly pushed through before the end of the January transfer window.
