Charlton resisted offers for Arsenal, Chelsea target Ezri Konsa

Charlton Athletic are battling to keep hold of Ezri Konsa.

The London Evening Standard says Konsa has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and the Manchester giants in recent months but Charlton refused to part with one of their brightest young prospects in a window where they sold Ademola Lookman to Everton for £10m.

Charlton manager Karl Robinson described Konsa, who has started the last 10 games for the Addicks, as being “from another planet" last month and has suggested the youngster can play a key role in “dragging the club back to where it belongs."

After the departure of Lookman, Charlton chief executive Katrien Meire insisted that she hoped the next generation of bright young prospects at the Valley, including Konsa and midfielder Joe Aribo, would not be tempted to the top flight.
