Charlton Athletic boss Karl Robinson has likened Joe Aribo to Tottenham star Dele Alli.

Robinson brought Spurs midfielder Alli into the side when MK Dons manager, handing him a debut at just 16 years old, and he sees similarities between the England international and Aribo, who signed a new deal just before Christmas.

"Four assists in two games is incredible. I have seen it before with a very special talent who is working in north London now," he told reporters.

Robinson has also labelled Aribo “like a young Patrick Vieira" and he is far from the only bright young thing in the Charlton squad, with another 18-year-old Ezri Konsa his partner in central midfield during the victory.

“They are as good as I have seen for a long time. Everyone is going to look at them and automatically because of their shape and size and athleticism you know who they're going to be linked to, especially since I've come in they'll go on about Dele Alli and are they anything like him.

“The kids are outstanding, I'm really excited about working with them and they can help to drag this club back to where it belongs."
