Arsenal winger Theo Walcott believes the amount of character and leadership in the squad has helped get things back on track this season.
At one point this campaign, the Gunners found themselves 10 points in arrears of North London rivals Tottenham but were able to haul that margin in and even kick ahead before Spurs caught them on the weekend.
Although Walcott admits it has been another disappointing season from an Arsenal fans point of view, he does feel it has been a success in terms of adding a 'toughness' string to their bow.
"Every team has their bad period, we have been up and down at stages; we weren't playing particularly badly, we just weren't getting results and it is all about results.
"We are learning to grind out results now. The Everton game (on March 21) for example, saw us play very well for 20 minutes but after that it was all Everton. But we still won 1-0 and that is what we need to do more often.
"We have real character in the squad, a lot of leaders and captains, and that helps us.""I am as frustrated as the fans that we can't do it throughout the season," he told the club's official website.
