CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - Ro16 2nd LEG: Ramos leads Real Madrid to win at Napoli

Real Madrid came from behind to account for Napoli with a 3-1 victory in Naples tonight.

The Spanish giants took a 3-1 lead to the Stadio San Paolo in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg and came out with a 6-2 aggregate triumph.

Dries Mertens gave Napoli some hope with an early goal in the 24th minute when he latched onto a clever ball from Marek Hamsik and finished with aplomb from an angle.

Madrid came close to levelling on the night when Cristiano Ronaldo fired into the upright five minutes later before Mertens did the same down the other end on 37 minutes.

Early in the second half, captain Sergio Ramos picked up his Real teammates by equalising in the 51st minute when powerfully heading home Toni Kroos' in-swinging corner.

Six minutes later, Ramos edged his side in front with another header from an out-swinging Kroos corner which deflected off Mertens and will go down to an own-goal from the Belgian.

Zinedine Zidane's side had a few half-chances as the minutes ticked on before Dani Carvajal missed from pointblank range.

But there was another goal in it for the visitors which came in injury-time when Pepe Reina denied Ronaldo's angled effort and Alvaro Morata followed up to wrap up proceedings and send the Spaniards through to the final eight.
