Manchester City's Carlos Tevez has labeled the UEFA Champions League as a 'beautiful tournament.

The 26-year old Argentina international experienced the competition when he was with Manchester United and is hoping his new club can qualify for it by defeating Tottenham on Wednesday to take fourth place on the Premier League table.

"The Champions League is one of the most beautiful tournaments in the world to play in, that is unquestionable," he said.

"Of course there is the possibility we will not qualify because we are just making our first steps to becoming a great team.

"Everything will happen in due time. But I like to talk about realities and maybe next season City in the Champions League will be a reality."
