Champions Celtic slash ticket prices, set to spend in summer

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell says the club will reduce ticket prices for next season after winning this year’s premiership.

The Hoops have taken £100 off each adult season ticket price at a cost of £4million to the club but Lawwell insists that does not mean they will not spend on new players in the summer if the fee is right.

“Value is what we go with. If it’s a Bosman, if it’s £900k or £1m, £3m, £4m or £5m, then we’ll go for it,” he said.

“Our whole transfer policy is centred around value. It’s not cost. It’s value.

“If we think there is a player at a particular price we think offers value, we will look.

“Marquee signings? They are on £50k, £60k, £70k per week. That’s not there for us.”
