CFG and Palermo open new academy

Manchester City and Palermo have opened a new academy in Sicily.

City Football Group own 80 per cent of Palermo, having bought in, in 2022.

Now the Palermo City Football Academy opened in Sicily on Sunday, and it is the first time in the club's 120-year history that it has owned its own training facilities.

The new academy includes, among other things, a fitness centre, medical facilities and a food hall.

In 2019 the club went bankrupt and was therefore kicked all the way down to Serie D. But it has since fought back before CFG's move.
