Former Derby County winger Kris Commons denies rejecting Rangers for Celtic.

Commons completed his £300,000 move from Derby to Celtic yesterday.

And he said: "How close was I to joining Rangers? Nowhere near. As far as the Rangers thing and the money being banded about is concerned, I swear to God it's all nonsense.

"It wasn't like Celtic came in at the last minute and nicked me.

"I was playing for Derby and was told they'd accepted a bid from Celtic. As soon as I found that out, I was up here doing my medical.

"For me, they were the only club that was interested and the only club I wanted to join."
