Celtic poised for keeper swoop in January

Celtic boss Neil Lennon could hit the transfer market in January for a keeper if Fraser Forster is required at his parent club Newcastle United. Forster has been first choice at Celtic since his loan move from St James' Park in August but although the agreement lasts until next summer, Newcastle can recall the highly-rated youngster in January should they require.

And with Magpies stopper Steve Harper set to be out for a considerable period of time, there is mounting speculation that Chris Hughton will recall Forster.

"I'm very happy with the three goalkeepers we have," Lennon said.

"They're pushing each other for a first team place at the moment.

"I think Fraser has done very well since coming in but we'll have to see how that situation develops now Steve Harper's got a bad injury.

"He's on loan from Newcastle and we'll have to look at that in January.

"If he is called back by Newcastle there might not be much we can do about it and we might have to look elsewhere then."
