Celtic great Bonner: Don't take double for granted!

Celtic legend Pat Bonner has urged today's players to be careful of pencilling in a domestic double this season.

The Hoops have already clinched the Scottish Premier League title ahead of the Scottish Cup final with Hibernian on May 26 at Hampden.

Bonner won eight trophies with Celtic but was never involved in a double and has implored Neil Lennon's men to make sure they fight for their second piece of silverware of the season.

"I didn't achieve the double at Celtic. You can't take it for granted, absolutely not, because the chance only comes around every so often in your career," said Bonner.

"I think there's only been five managers who have won the double as a player and a manager at the same club - guys like Jock Stein, Billy McNeill and Alex McLeish.

"Neil Lennon has the chance of writing history.

"People talk about it being easy to win the league title without Rangers but there's a different type of stress.

"Yes, you're not looking over your shoulder but that keeps players on their toes. Neil has to keep the guys going at home and in Europe and all the focus is on Celtic.

"When Rangers were there, the focus would be going from Rangers to Celtic - but now it's on Celtic all the time."
