Celtic’s Georgios Samaras has urged manager Neil Lennon to remain with the Scottish champions.
The Ulsterman is being linked with a possible move to Everton following the announcement that David Moyes will replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United but Samaras wants him to stay and achieve more success at Parkhead.
“If we stay the same team with the same manager then next season can be even better than this one. I really believe in this team,” said the Greece international.
“We have a lot of young players and they can be really good players in Britain, they play at a very high level.
“The manager knows Celtic really well and his football really well.
“He played at a high level with Celtic and won trophies here. He played in the Champions League and he knows how to approach the games.
“For a young team like us, which had players who had no Champions League experience, he is the perfect man.
“He has not changed. He has the same mentality and the same way of training. The way he talks to the players is the same.
“I can’t answer questions about his future or about what he is thinking but the manager is key to our success and the players are key to the success.
“The gaffer has known me for six years. He knows me, how to speak to me, what he wants from me. I think the most important thing is that he’s shown to me his trust and when people trust me I can do everything for them.”
