Celtic manager Ronny Deila admits he has not yet been able to watch Tom Rogic closely because of the player's injury woes.
The talented 21-year old Australian midfielder recently underwent a second operation on his troublesome adductor which is expected to keep him sidelined for the remainder of 2014.
The former Central Coast Mariners star has not played competitively since April when he was on loan with Melbourne Victory but that does not mean Hoops boss Deila will not give him a chance when he is fit again in 2015.
"He's had a new operation so it will take time to heal. He'll not be playing again this year," the Norwegian told the Evening Times.
"I haven't seen him play so much, we'll need to wait until he's back but that will take some months.
"We've spoken as he's training with us, but it's on the pitch I have to see him."
Since arriving at Celtic in January 2013, nine-time Australia international Rogic has made just 15 appearances for the reigning Scottish champions.
