Cech: Senior Chelsea players deserve credit for silverware without Mourinho

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech feels the senior players deserve credit for maintaining success after Jose Mourinho's previous departure.

Cech is looking forward to working with Mourinho again.

"That is one of the strengths of the team," he told the Daily Mail. "Even in a difficult times, we always find a way to get out of it. The never-give-up mentality is always there. No matter how bad the situation.

"Sometimes the manager left, we always found way to go through it and win things. You can argue all day if it is better to have one manager and no trophy or 10 managers and 10 trophies. This is the way it goes in our club, we seem to get the success we wish although there are other ways to do it."

But would even more have been won had Mourinho stayed?

"This is one thing that is very hard to say," he replies. "It would be pure speculation. When you change a manager everybody suddenly gets new impetus. Maybe the way the new managers came helped us to improve."
