Catania boss Sinisa Mihajlovic says for a moment he was the best defender in the world.
The Serb played with distinction for Inter Milan, Sampdoria and Lazio during his playing career.
Mihajlovic said: "I lived wonderful years with Sampdoria because the fans are special. I also played for them as a striker and then when Sven Goran Eriksson arrived I ended up playing in defence when during a Coppa Italia match I had to fill in for Franceschetti who had been sent off.
"One day Sven told me that I had all the qualities to become the best defender in the world, being as I was strong physically, very technical and also quick. For some years his prophecy came true.
"When I went to Lazio I did everything - passing, assists - many clubs wanted me. One Sunday I even scored three free kicks against Sampdoria."
