Cassano: Spanish life too good to waste on football

Antonio Cassano admits he let himself and Real Madrid down during his time in Spain.

Currently on-loan at Sampdoria, Cassano revealed: "When I arrived in Spain I was happy. I took to the new adventure with enthusiasm, but in the final three months I wanted to return (to Italy) because I lived too well to be a footballer.

"The question was: Am I a professional or not? And I chose the second answer. Life was too good. I am sincere, I say the truth. I couldn't care less about football while I was there, there were too many attractive women."
