Cash: Aston Villa players ready for top 4 fight

Aston Villa are said to be relishing the fight for Champions League qualification in the Premier League.

That is the view of right-back Matty Cash, who admits they have to overcome a recent speedbump.

While the Villains have lost twice at home in the league to Newcastle and Manchester United recently, they bounced back by beating Fulham 2-1 at the weekend.

"Losing Bouba [Kamara] was obviously a massive blow, losing Diego [CArlos] was big, especially coming into this game which we knew was going to be tough," Cash admitted post-game.

"But we showed resilience, were strong. Ollie finished it off for us, which was nice. It's a fantastic win. Teams don't find it easy here so it is great.

"You look at Clem Lenglet who has come in today and played right-sided center half. He was brilliant and it just shows we are ready to play wherever, we are ready to fight and are ready to win.

"There is always a little bit of panic when we drop off [out the top four]. Then you get back into the top four and I am sure all the Villa fans will be happy.

"But it is part of the journey, part of the road. You win some, you lose some. The more you win, the more consistent you are so you finish in those top areas. We are delighted.

"If drop any sort of performance below your level and you lose points. The more you lose points, the more the other teams around you win all the time. You look at City and Arsenal and they win regularly every week. You have to compete with them, which I think we are doing at the minute."
