Casemiro urges Man Utd teammates to shelve Barcelona thoughts

Manchester United players must not to focus on their Europa League play-off tie with Barcelona, says Casemiro.

The Red Devils will be taking on the Spanish giants and current La Liga leaders in the round of 32 two-legged contest in February and March.

While ex-Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is looking forward to the game, he believes that his teammates must focus on what is ahead of them before worrying about Barca.

“I know Barcelona very well and I know they are a big club but that game is still miles away," Casemiro said to club media.

“We're not thinking about that tie, but rather focusing on the next games.

“There is lots ahead of us before then, we'll have to see in a few months how each team is performing but I think it's always a special occasion when you play against a big opponent.

"We know it'll be a very tough encounter but for the moment I don't think we're thinking too much about that game." United have eight Premier League matches before the trip to Barcelona excluding League Cup and FA Cup ties.
