Newcastle United management are conscious of their players becoming complacent.
United take on Tottenham next Sunday buoyed by a terrific unbeaten run that sees them sitting fourth in the early Premier League standings.
But assistant manager John Carver told the Sunday Sun: "The start has been a great start but nobody's getting carried away.
"It can change so quickly and we will lose a game somewhere down the road.
"It's about how we react to losing that game - that's the most important bit.
"But we're not taking our foot off the pedal or easing up.
"We've had some really hard sessions this week, we're not relaxing because as soon as you do it bites you in the bum."
