Carson rues opening door to Villa rivals

Scott Carson admits he faces a big task winning back his Aston Villa place as he faces suspension after his red card against Manchester United.

The on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper says Stuart Taylor did well as his replacement and told Villa's website: "He made a couple of good saves. The penalty was a good save, so fair play to him.

"We've got Thomas Sorensen as well. I'm not taking it for granted that I'm number one. I've got to work hard and that is what I've been doing. It is the manager's decision who he picks but I'll just keep working hard and hope I can establish myself."
