Liverpool may have found right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold's perfect position this season.
That is according to club legend Jamie Carragher, who spoke about Alexander-Arnold this week after the Reds' 6-1 drubbing of Leeds United.
The defender played in a central midfield role for most of the game, especially when his side had the ball.
He said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football: “Trent has provided quality from, I can't even call it a conventional full-back position because he plays the role differently, but for me watching him in midfield getting more involved, running the game... I think this is almost perfect for him.
“We're talking about John Stones at the moment doing this brilliantly for Manchester City. Trent's a better passer of the ball than John Stones.
“John Stones is great and has great composure on the ball, but in terms of defense-splitting passes, no [he isn't better than Trent].
“That's what this lad has got, and there's only Kevin de Bruyne in the Premier League who is better than him at what we've just seen."
