Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is eager to see more youngsters coming through the Reds youth system.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "Academy football is extremely important. We'd all like to see a few more coming through and I'm sure they will. Stephen Darby and Jay Spearing were superb in pre-season so hopefully they'll be involved in the future.

"Hopefully some more will come through because me and Stevie won't be here forever."
