Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has slammed Chelsea's transfer spending this week.
The Blues, who won in the Premier League on Monday night against Fulham, have spent over £1 billion on transfers.
That spending has taken place in just over a year of the co-ownership of Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly, which Carragher savaged.
“You rarely get your best 11 on the pitch, they have injuries but if you get their team on the pitch regularly I believe they are fighting for top four," Carragher stated on Sky Sports.
“If you tell me that is their best team after spending £1 billion, they still need four players to make them capable of catching Man City.
“Centre forward (Nicolas Jackson) isn't good enough, goalkeeper (Robert Sanchez) isn't good enough, center-back and another midfielder.
“To think Chelsea have spent £1 billion and still feel half a team away from competing for the Premier League is flabbergasting."
