Liverpool great Jamie Carragher believes Gareth Bale failed to deliver as Real Madrid bowed out to Juventus in the semi-final of the Champions League.
Los Blancos could only draw their home game 1-1 with the Bianconeri, condemning them to a 3-2 aggregate loss to the Turin club, and Carragher feels Welsh winger Bale underperformed when his club needed him most.
Carragher told Sky Sports: "He was involved. He had headers he could have done better with, he had a shot from outside the box.
"You wouldn't say he's missed an absolute sitter, but the expectation at this club when you have cost a world record fee is you produce a moment of magic in a game like this.
"Big players do big things in big moments and tonight that's what they needed and he didn't quite deliver."
