Manchester City defender Chris Chantler has joined Carlisle United on an emergency loan until 2 January.

The 20-year-old has moved to Greg Abbott's side, who are currently mid-table in the NPower League One table.

The Cumbrians take on Colchester at Brunton Park this weekend.

The Stockport-born defender has been at City for more than 11 years now, having started his career at one of the late City striker Neil Young's Soccer Schools.
