Cardiff City are ready to push through a deal for Craig Bellamy - if he is granted a free transfer by Manchester City.

The Mirror says Cardiff boss Dave Jones and the club's new Malaysian owners are ready to pay the Welsh striker a stunning £25,000-a-week to join them, with Bellamy interested in signing for his favourite club.

Bellamy trained with Jones' team in the build-up to the play-off final and is looking into how he can help push through the potential dream move.

Jones and Bellamy have hit it off and now Cardiff are willing to dig deep into their coffers - but the move still depends on the Welsh star getting a settlement from Manchester City, and that is a big hurdle.
