Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan is delighted for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after landing the full-time Manchester United job.

Tan hired - then fired - Solskjaer as Cardiff manager.

Tan and Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman were always big supporters of Solskjaer and that still remains to this day.

A text sent to local radio read: "I want it known I'm very pleased to congratulate Ole for his much-deserved confirmation as manager of Manchester United, a job coveted by many.

"Ole has brought success and stability to the United team in his short stint.

"I wish Ole great success, I'm delighted for him.

"Warmest regards, Vincent."
