Cardiff City are launching a bid for Ecuador international winger Jefferson Montero.
The Mirror says Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is making a £3million move for Montero.
Mackay has been alerted that the Mexico-based midfielder wants to come to the Premier League and is now hoping to agree a fee with his club, Morelia.
Speedy and skilful Montero would be a perfect alternative to Blackpool's Thomas Ince, who turned down a £8m switch to the Welsh club last month.
