Cardiff City want to retain the services of Jordon Mutch following their relegation to the Championship.
The 22-year old midfielder had an impressive debut season in the Premier League last term despite the Bluebirds' shortcomings.
That form has attracted the interest of Sunderland with manger Gus Poyet looking to make a move for Mutch this summer but Wales Online suggests that Cardiff are desperate to keep him as they look for a swift return to the top flight under Ole Gunnsr Solskjaer.
