Cardiff City boss Dave Jones has failed in a second attempt to land former striker Robert Earnshaw on loan from Derby County.

Jones is looking to add more pace to his front line and tried back in January to land the former Norwich player at the club but Derby blocked any move.

Chairman Peter Ridsdale has indicated that he has had a couple of moves for loan players turned down by Premiership clubs recently and it is thought that a move for Earnshaw was one of them.
