Cardiff ace Miller yearning for Wembley appearance

Cardiff City striker Kenny Miller is hoping he can finally make it to Wembley Stadium this season.

The Scotland international is one match away from a potential Cup final at the grandiose London venue as Cardiff get set to take on Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg at home tonight.

A fortnight ago, the Bluebirds lost 1-0 at Selhurst Park to put them in a precarious position but Miller, who has scored three goals in his past five outings, is eyeing a big win at Cardiff City Stadium for the chance to meet either Liverpool or Manchester City in the February 25 final.

"I've never had the chance to play at Wembley before, either at the old or new one," Miller said.

"It's not been something I've pined for but I'd love to make a wee appearance there. It's a fantastic arena to play in.

"Normally the only time you'd get to play there would be a Scotland-England game or a cup final.

"That would be massive too and we've got an opportunity to get there now. For me it would be great to walk out in a cup final against Liverpool or Manchester City at a stadium like that.

"For a team like us to get there would be a massive achievement. But getting to the final wouldn't mean anything if we got beat.

"We'd want to go and win which would be fantastic.

"Our tie is maybe being looked on like the runners-up tie. I was watching the Man City-Liverpool game the night after our first leg and it was being talked about as if it was the final. That whoever won that game would beat one of us at Wembley.

"Firstly we want to get through but then you never know what might happen on a given day."
