Etienne Capoue has explained why he turned down Cardiff City to sign for Tottenham last week.
Cardiff had a bid accepted by Toulouse, but the France midfielder chose Spurs when they came in for him days before the Premier League kickoff.
Capoue explained: "I decided I wanted to play in a very attractive league, and the Premier League is the best league in Europe. I really wanted to go to England and Tottenham was an opportunity that I could not refuse. Cardiff would not have been a step up in my career. Tottenham allowed me to make that leap, Cardiff did not."
