England boss Fabio Capello has jumped to the defence of Christian Panucci after he declared he wanted to leave Roma.

"I have no friends among football players, except for one, and that is Panucci," revealed his former Milan and Roma boss Capello.

"He can be a little crazy. We often talk to each other and meet up in Spain, where he too has a house.

"I think the split with Roma will be definitive. He is someone who always wants to play, but I don't know exactly what happened between him and Spalletti."
