Former Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has revealed he turned down offers from Everton and West Ham United over the summer.

The 39 year-old has announced his retirement after coming off contract at Valencia last season and revealed: "I had two offers from England this summer, West Ham and Everton, and said no.

"I felt the need to dedicate myself to my family after so many years given to football."
