Joao Cancelo says he's always been a Barcelona fan.

The fullback is on-loan at Barca from Manchester City this season.

He told 1 Para 1: "I have always been a Barcelona fan. Of course, more in the golden era, from approximately 2008, I grew up watching Barcelona play.

"It was the period of Josep Guardiola's Pep team with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Thierry Henry, Eto'o... A constellation of stars that dominated football in the following decade.

"For me, I grew up watching the best soccer team play, which is Barcelona in 2009, and many of my idols played here."

Therefore, when he had the option of joining Barca this season, he had no hesitation in accepting the proposal.
