Ivan Campo admits he's "very upset" over the way he's been shunted out of Bolton Wanderers.

The former Real Madrid defender said: "I never had the chance to say farewell. It is a bit sad that I had to find out from the coach in a two-minute phone call four days after the final game that he no longer wanted me.

"I fully understand he wants to play a different style of football and there is no room for a player like me. That's fine, but I would have liked to have been given the chance to say goodbye.

"One of the saddest things is that nobody from the club has been in contact to wish me good luck in my new adventure. At the least I expected a phone call from the chairman. I am very upset it has ended this way."
